How do I gain control of my day?

Every day that we are alive we receive a brand new deposit in our bank account of time. We all get the same amount and it totals 24hrs.

However, do you ever feel like there is never enough time, and does the day always seem to run away with you?

There is no doubt that fire fighting, endless emergencies, relentless in-coming communication through phones, email, texting and maintaining relationships all appear to go in the opposite direction of what the bible describes as ‘a peace that passes all understanding’.

So then, how do I gain control of my day?

The bible says…….Is there anyone here who, planning to build a new house, doesn’t first sit down and figure the cost so you’ll know if you can complete it? (The Message Translation

The old adage says that time  is money and the simple verse above gives instructions on planning and budgeting, so why not budget how to spend your next 24hrs.

Here are three things that will help you spend your time wisely:

  1. Plan your day, the night before (forewarned is forearmed)
  2. Don’t multi-task (one thing at a time and that done well)
  3. Review the day (what went well and even better if……)

Steven Covey wrote a book called  ’The 7 habits of highly effective people’. In it he mentions the story of a woodcutter, who when asked about the time he takes to sharpen his saw, replied that he didn’t have time for that.

Taking the time to gain control of your day is one of the greatest gifts that you can give yourself, and it will make a difference in your world!

Ever wish you had less problems?

Don't Stop Believing

Do you ever ask yourself the question, why is it not happening for me, and then spend  time contemplating your life with fewer problems?

Jim Rohn, a teacher worth investigating went through a similar train of thought and his mentor advised him

“Don’t wish for it to be easier, seek to be better than you currently are”

It appears easier to ask for less questions to life, but this can be countered by asking for  answers, more solutions, and more skills.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and thank you for visiting the Emerge website

As usual this is the time for the new years resolution, and I was reading an article that stated that January 24th is the the most depressing day of the year, because that about the time that everybody gives up.

So what does it take to change?

I believe you can change the direction of your life, by changing the way you think, or in other words, ‘If you can Change your mind, you will Change your Life.

Whether your challenge is spiritual enlightenment and the desire to understand why you are here, or you simply just want to stop being late for appointments, feeling stuck in a rut,  the mechanisms for change are very simple, although transition takes time and persistence is required to see the end results.

Over the course of the next 12 months, I will be we will we going through the process of understanding what it takes to change, by asking the question, Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

This question is important because change occurs when staying the same way is no longer an option!

You can do it, you can succeed and I am here to help.
