“Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
Faith is required for the INVISIBLE not the VISIBLE.
There is a great scene in one of the Indiana Jones films where he reaches a rock face, and the only way across is for him to step into what looks like open air.
Armed with the drawings that say step out, Indiana makes the final decision to reach for the invisible and when he does, the bridge to support him arrives at every step of the way.
The Dictionary definition of faith is: “Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.”
The bible puts it like this: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Or put another way another way: “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
As you contemplate the changes you want to make in your life remember this- you don’t need faith for what you know you can do on your own, faith is required for the seemingly impossible
